Why I Keep Watching The Chosen — And Why You Should Too

If you know me, you know I rarely watch a show more than once — but The Chosen is the exception. I absolutely love this show. I watch it on repeat and every time I do, I discover something new that touches my heart and deepens my faith.

For those who may not be familiar, The Chosen is a groundbreaking multi-season series about the life of Jesus and His disciples. But it’s so much more than just another Bible story retelling — it’s an invitation to see the humanity of Jesus and the people around Him in a fresh and deeply moving way.

One of the things I love most is how The Chosen makes Jesus so relatable. There are moments when He laughs, jokes with His disciples, and shows joy in the simplest moments — and it reminds me that our Savior was fully human as well as fully divine. Seeing Jesus smile and share a lighthearted moment with His friends brings the Gospels alive in a way that words on a page sometimes can’t.

Some scenes stand out in my mind every time I think about the show. The Sermon on the Mount is breathtaking — watching thousands gather on the hillside to hear Jesus’ words of truth and hope gave me chills. The way the show builds up to this moment is so powerful, showing the disciples helping organize the crowd, the anticipation, and then the simple but life-changing words Jesus speaks.

Another scene that never fails to move me is the raising of Lazarus. The heartbreak of Mary and Martha, the raw grief of their loss, and then the miracle of Jesus calling Lazarus from the tomb — it’s filmed so beautifully that it feels like you’re standing right there witnessing the impossible become possible. It reminds me that no situation is too far gone for God to redeem.

These are just a few examples of what makes The Chosen so special to me. Every episode is crafted with care, respect for Scripture, and a deep desire to show us not just what Jesus did — but who He is.

If you’ve never watched The Chosen, I encourage you to give it a try. Watch it with your family. Watch it with your friends. Watch it on your own when you need a reminder that Jesus is real, near, and still changing lives today. And if you’ve seen it before, I invite you to watch it again — because I promise, you’ll see something new every time.

You can stream The Chosen for free through their app or other platforms (I use Prime Video) - it’s a true gift that I hope more and more people discover.
