Weekend Reflections: Faith, Family, and Gratitude

Weekend Reflections: Faith, Family, and Gratitude

As the weekend approaches, I find myself yearning for time with my loved ones. Life moves so quickly—work, responsibilities, and distractions can easily pull us away from the people who matter most. But weekends are God’s little gift, a moment to pause and reconnect.

This weekend, I want to be present. I want to laugh with my kids, enjoy a home-cooked meal, and have quiet moments with my wife where we talk about nothing and everything. I want to thank God for the blessing of family—this precious, imperfect, beautiful gift He has entrusted to me.

As I reflect on my own blessings, I’m also thinking about the many men and women who don’t get weekends off—our first responders and healthcare workers. While we gather around the table or rest under the summer sun, they are out there working long shifts, saving lives, answering calls, and bringing hope in the darkest of places.

I want to lift them up in prayer this weekend

Lord, thank You for the bravery, strength, and compassion of every first responder and healthcare worker. Protect them, renew their energy, and give them peace that only You can provide. Bless their families, who sacrifice so much. Let them feel our gratitude and, more importantly, Your presence. Amen.

Let us not take for granted the freedom we have to gather, to rest, and to worship. May we use it wisely—with joy, love, and purpose.

Wishing you all a weekend filled with love, renewal, and thankfulness.
