Pilgrimage Begins: Rome, Here We Come!

Pilgrimage Begins: Rome, Here We Come!

As I sit at the airport waiting to board my flight to Rome, my heart is overflowing with excitement, gratitude, and anticipation. The journey I’ve been preparing for — spiritually and physically — is finally about to begin. What an incredible feeling it is to be on the threshold of this pilgrimage, not just with my family, but alongside fellow pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Miami.

Today I’m wearing a shirt that simply says, “2 Fish, 5 Loaves.” It’s a reminder of God’s abundant provision, and I’ve been touched by how many strangers have stopped to compliment it — fellow believers recognizing the message and sharing a moment of fellowship. It brings me real joy to know that, even here in the airport, Christ connects us.

I pray for safe and smooth travels for all of us heading to this Holy Jubilee event. May every plane depart on time, every suitcase arrive intact, and every heart be open to the powerful experiences awaiting us.

This trip feels like more than just a visit to sacred sites. I truly believe it will be a life-changing event — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk through the Holy Doors of the major basilicas, to stand where saints have stood, and to feel the living presence of our faith in the Eternal City. I don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance to attend another Jubilee or make this journey again, so I plan to take it all in with open eyes, a grateful heart, and a spirit ready to receive.

Please pray for me, and know that I’ll be praying for you — my readers, friends, and fellow seekers — as I carry your intentions with me to Rome.
