New Beginnings and Grateful Hearts
Last night my wife and I had the privilege of helping to teach our very first class with the 7th and 8th graders who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation next March. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but I walked out of that classroom encouraged and inspired.
The kids were engaged, curious, and ready to talk about their faith. It’s a humbling thing to be in a position to guide them on this part of their journey, and I’m looking forward to many more nights of learning and sharing, not just teaching them, but learning from them as well. I can already see that they will bless us as much as we hope to bless them.
On a personal note, this week also brought a moment of joy for our family. Greyson stepped back onto the baseball field for the first time in over six months. After breaking his arm earlier this year, he missed out on the entire spring and summer seasons. Watching him throw, catch, and laugh alongside his friends again was great.
His arm looks strong, and I am so thankful for God’s healing hand in his recovery. As I watched him out there, I couldn’t help but think of the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:26
“With God all things are possible.”
God has a way of reminding us of His presence in both the big and small victories of our lives, from the progress in healing to the faith journeys of our confirmation students.
A Prayer of Gratitude and Hope
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gift of new beginnings. For the chance to share our faith with the next generation and to witness Your healing power in the lives of those we love.
Bless the students preparing for Confirmation. May their hearts be open to Your Spirit and their lives be rooted in Your love.
We lift up all who are recovering from injuries or hardships, and we especially thank You for restoring Greyson’s health and strength. Continue to guide his steps on and off the field.
Help us to trust in You always, remembering that through You, all things are possible.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
