God Is All Around Us — Even at the Airport

As I sit here in the airport, surrounded by the steady hum of rolling suitcases, boarding announcements, and hurried footsteps, I find myself people-watching. It’s amazing how much you can learn just by observing others—families reuniting, travelers helping strangers with their bags, some showing kindness with a simple smile. Others, unfortunately, seem impatient, disconnected, or even rude.
In these quiet moments, God gently reminds me of His commandments—particularly those that guide how we are to treat our neighbors. “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31) is not just a verse we memorize. It’s a command that’s meant to be lived out in our everyday encounters, even in the hustle and chaos of a busy terminal.
Some people live these values effortlessly, radiating grace and compassion. Others may have forgotten or need to be reminded. But no matter what, one thing is always clear to me: God is still good. He is still present. He is all around us.
I see Him in the older man who gives up his seat for a tired mother. I see Him in the airport worker offering directions with a smile. I see Him even in the quiet stillness between the noise—whispering peace to those willing to listen.
Being here reminds me that every place, even an airport, can be holy ground if our hearts are open to seeing God’s presence. Let’s carry that reminder into our travels, into our daily lives, and into every interaction. Let’s love our neighbor—not just when it’s easy or convenient, but especially when it’s not.
Because even in the most ordinary places, God is extraordinary.
